Big Brother is a popular reality television format, where, over a couple of months, a number of contestants (typically 12) try to avoid periodic publicly-voted evictions from a communal house and hence win a cash prize.
The Big Brother format was created by John De Mol, the executive of the now global production company Endemol. The first ever Big Brother production took place in the Netherlands, back in 1999.
Big Brother has hooked millions of people worldwide, and over 32 countries have produced their own versions of the hit programme, with more countries broadcasting repeats of already broadcast international shows.
Each year the betting on the cult TV show is always extremely interesting with odds changing at a drop of a hat as events in the house unfold. The eviction market each week as well as the overall winners betting are the most popular markets with many betting coups landed over the years.
Big Brother has scored massive ratings for Channel 4 since its debut in 2000, but it seems to be on a downward curve, with last year's Big Brother 8 drawing the lowest series average of just 3.9m.
The show's biggest audience came in its first year, when 9.5 million watched the series finale.
